Tailored to the mould, the cold runner ensures a reliable, balanced injection moulding of the moulded part. We supply open, balanced gating systems as well as adjustable valve gate systems.
For gating a higher number of cavities, up to twelve cavities can be filled directly via external cold runner valve gate nozzles. The systems are driven pneumatically or mechanically. We can offer individual solutions, depending on the component requirements.
Cold runner systems
We offer a wide range of cold runner systems with valve gate nozzles from “Basic” to “High-End”. We offer our customers the complete range in standard or customized versions from a single nozzle to a 64-cavity LSR cold runner system. Our basic aspiration is to implement perfect temperature control and balancing of the mass flow for uniform filling of the cavities, with a direct and almost invisible gate on the component without loss of material. The mature components, which have been tested over many years, are standardised components and can be called up from us at any time.
Electrical cold runner 4 to 64 drop
- Smallest cavity distance: approx. 45 – 50 mm
- Pneumatically operated shut-off needles
- Basic rheological design up to the injection point
- Optimised cooling up to the tip of the shut-off needle
- Quick-locking mechanism to the LSR mould
- The filling level of each cavity can be optimised by an electrically controlled needle stroke (E-KKS). The needle stroke can be adjusted during operation. No machine stop is necessary!
- Defective cavities can be temporarily deactivated

E-KKS Control
- The control is only required for parametrization of the cold runner system
- The control unit can be disconnected from the running system and used in parallel with other EMDE MouldTec electrical cold runner systems
- The control system is expandable up to 32 control cards for manipulation of the corresponding number of servo units and is “downwards” compatible
- For operation, either a built-in 7″ display can be attached to the control cabinet or mobile devices can be accessed; the Android/iOS app is included
Cold runner with extra flat nozzles
- Special development for baby care articles, e.g., silicone bottle teats on small injection moulding machines with a short opening path
- Pneumatically actuated separate pistons per needle and optimized cooling up to the needle seat
